E46 Differential Bushing Install Orientation Guide
Below you will find diagrams on how to properly orient E46 differential bushings during install.
Front Bushings
The front bushings will need to be installed with the rounded edge facing the rear of the vehicle. To do this you will need to insert them from the front side of the subframe and press them in towards the rear of the vehicle. See the second diagram below for orientation of install.
Rear Bushing
The rear bushing needs to be installed with the rounded end facing the passenger side of the vehicle. To do this you will need to press the bushing in from the driver's side of the vehicle towards the passenger side. See the second diagram below for orientation of install.

Doesn't the rear diff bushing go the other way?
The oem rear diff bushing has a lip on the side that touches the diff (side towards the passenger.) The rounded side should be flush with the driver side. I'm not sure thats why I am looking this up. But also on garagistics Facebook page with the red subframe they have the flat side w. lip on the passengers identified and the rounded end on the driver side.
