My USPS international order tracking number has been stuck in Los Angeles
USPS International provides limited tracking information for their packages but offers great rates in return. Many of our customers choose USPS Intl to ship their orders due to the lower shipping prices. When a package is shipped with USPS Intl, it is first taken to Los Angeles where the package is then sorted according to the destination country. From this point to when the package arrives in the destination country, the shipping status will show this:
Depending on the destination country, when the package arrives off the plane, it will go through your country's customs process. Since USPS is a US institution, the tracking status will not update until the package clears customs and is passed on to a local postal carrier. At that time the tracking will update and the local postal carrier will deliver the products to your door using the same tracking number you received originally.
What to do if you see this tracking status?
If you see this tracking status for more than a few days, please contact your customs office with the tracking number, your name, and phone number. There may be duties or fees owed that need to be paid before the package can be given to the local postal carrier for delivery.
