Overview
Below we will talk about the main differences between the Garagistic Supreme and Chassis Shifter, to help assist you in deciding which shifter is best suited for you.
To start, the Garagistic Supreme shifter is going to cater to most people. It improves on everything that the OEM shifter does and takes it even one step further as it allows for multiple points of adjustment, and gives you multiple options for shifter rod length and shift knob. In order to get the most out of your shifter, we recommend that you install a DSSR, fresh shifter bushings, and replace your selector joint. By upgrading these OEM shifter components, your shifter will feel far better than OEM. With the Supreme shifter, you can use OEM transmission and engine mount bushings with this setup which keeps things quiet in the cabin. The throws are smooth and crisp but not extremely notchy and short. Best suited for any streetcar which may see some track time!
- Pros: Superior shifter feel, Adjustability, Customizability, allows for use of rubber motor and trans bushings, and Street/Track Friendly.
- Cons: More complex than a Chassis shifter (Uses OEM shifter components such as the OEM shifter Arm)
The Garagistic Chassis Shifter is a complete departure from the OEM shifter. It completely simplifies the shifter assembly and eliminates the carrier completely. This makes installation extremely easy and completely reversible. In addition, this shifter offers extremely short and notchy throws. It's simple and gets the job done, definitely giving ANY car that race car style feel. However, we do not recommend installing a solid shifter in a car with worn-out transmission or old rubber motor and trans bushings. Keep in mind that everything is solid mounted with this shifter, so it will emphasize any other slop in the shifter assembly and transmission.
You'll need to run polyurethane or aluminum engine and transmission bushings with the solid shifter. These feel great while driving and give you amazing road feedback, but the downside is a fair bit of added vibration at idle. If you have rattling panels, try and secure them before installing solid bushings haha.
- Pros: Extremely notchy shifter feel, Simplicity, Adjustable, and Customizable.
- Cons: Not very street friendly, Noise/Vibration/Harshness due to solid mounting method, and Requires upgraded motor and trans bushings (aka Polyurethane, or Aluminum Bushings)

Summary
Chassis Shifter: Solid shifter is the way to go for a notchy tight race feel – but be prepared to freshen up the rest of your shifter assembly (DSSR and Selector Joint), motor and transmission bushings, and possibly your transmission itself if you want it to be perfect.
Supreme Shifter: On the other side, the Supreme OEM+ shifter is the way to go for the majority of people. Great for both street and track use, the Supreme shifter is extremely livable and overall very satisfying. You should consider purchasing a complete shifter rebuild kit, DSSR, and Selector Joint to ensure you are getting the most out of your shifter upgrade. Perfect for the exciting daily, or even the track car!
